Put on the Garment of Praise
Everything around King Jehoshaphat spelt doom. Five nations were on their way, marching towards tiny Judah to crush her. The king determined in his heart to ask God for help. He confessed his helplessness and then put on the garment of praise (2 Chronicles 20). The national choir then led the army of Judah to war, singing and praising the Lord. We know the result of that war, without lifting a finger; the enemies turned on each other and began to fight against one another. Not one single person escaped. They all killed themselves even before God’s people got to the battle front. King Jehoshaphat and the army gathered the spoil for over 3 days. What are the odds facing you today? Just praise through your circumstance. Praise is the highest form of prayer
Even if the stakes are raised against you as in the case of Prophet Elijah’s ‘fire from heaven contest’ Gods promise stands. The Battle is not yours, but His to fight. He who has been faithful from ages past is the ancient of days.
God inhabits the praises of His children. In Acts chapter 4, Peter and John had just healed a 43 year old crippled in the name of Jesus. They were confronted by the authority of the day and queried for doing this. After much criticism, threats and animosity, Peter and John left the presence of the Sanhedrin and put on their garments of praise, thanking God and praying for more boldness, along with the other believers. God’s presence descended mightily on them all and the place where they were shook. Their prayers were answered.
In God presence, anointing breaks all yokes. Praise brings Gods presence down to earth. God is able to replace the spirit of heaviness in your life with a garment of praise. He gives beauty for ashes and the oil of gladness for mourning. Come to the altar of God, off-load your problems and download his solution into your situation. Cast all your cares upon Him and you will soar like the eagle.
What are you going through now? Put on your garment of praise your God who is the same yesterday, today and forever is set to turn it around for you.
